Hsv and pregnancy.
I know for some women such as myself I don’t exactly like to clue people in to the fact that i herpes. Even though I know it’s not a huge deal and it causes no long term or really even short term health problems. There is still the stigma that I am “gross”.
I was diagnosed with HSV 2 I believe when I was 20 years old at my quarterly STD check (that I get every 3 months, new partner or not) I had never had an out break (and still 2.5/3 years later have never had an outbreak)
My doctor told me it’s no big deal that 3/4 of the population has herpes, and if I haven’t had an outbreak yet I likely NEVER will, unless I got pregnant my chances of an outbreak could go up of having one.
Well fast forward I am now nearly 8 months pregnant and still no outbreak however my dr. does want to treat me toward the end of my pregnancy to be on the safe side! (FINE WITH ME) anything to avoid a c-section.
But I don’t have an appointment for another month due to the holiday, what week should they start treating me for it? I think that he may have forgotten?
Also I welcome other women to share their stories of hsv below so a lot of the women who feel alone aren’t!
