Advice for first time tampon user?

I’ve been wearing pads for 16 years.. I’m 25, today I used my first tampon.. I bought super Plus cuz I’m always heavy on my period. It felt a bit dry to put it in. But was fine. Took it out 2 hours later to see how it’s holding and it kind of hurt. Is that normal? Anything I should know about tampons?

I wear a liner as well and usually wait 3 to 4 hours to check for any spotting on my liner. If I try to pull a bit and it hurts then I would leave it there for a bit longer. If there is any spotting on my liner than I’ll go ahead and take it out

I would suggest starting with a smaller tampon and working your way up. If your period is really heavy, wear a tampon AND a maxi pad.

It hurt because it was still fairly dry. Start smaller and back up with liners until you figure it out.
