Mesh crib bummers?

I use them on my 5 month old. The breathable ones. I tried without them but he would get his arms and legs stuck between the rails. This prevents that

my son is 16 months old and I've always wanted to get that for his crib but never got around to it. so I personally don't think they are a necessity.

Used regular ones until around 6 months when my son started shoving his face up into them (they came with his bedding set) and then bought a mesh liner which is much better!

Wasn't planning on using one, but my now 6 month old kept getting his legs stuck in the crib slots so I decided if I were gonna use a bumper, it'd be the mesh one. So far we have not had any issues w/ it.

I used them on my daughter, it wasn’t long before she started pushing them down and untiring then to take them off lol.
