How long did you and your SO wait to move in together?

My boyfriend and I have been together for about a year and a half. We started talking about him moving in with me at six months and had planned on living together at the end of this past summer. However life got in the way and has set the date back multiple times. Set backs were mainly because he began a course to become an EMT which was extremely demanding. We talk about him moving in all the time but I'm not sure he's actually ready to take the step yet. We also have just begun to see his daughters much more often. Throughout most of the time we've been together he was not allowed to see his children much. I had only met them once. Thankfully he and his ex are more civil now and since August we have been able to have time with the kids at least once a week and more recently he's had them up to four days out of the week for no less than 4 hours at a time! so basically what I'm asking is what felt like the right timing for you. I'm so ready to wake up to him every morning but I think he may still need some time.
