Is throwing money on stage disrespectful?

Recently, singer Ashanti was performing one of her songs on stage. During her performance she was wearing a body suit, boots and in the middle of giving a lap dance when fans began to throw money on her. At that point she stopped the show and said “I’m not a fu*king stripper!”

After the whole ordeal, Ashanti further elaborated in an interview that regardless of what she was wearing and/or doing, throwing money on her was disrespectful because she isn’t a stripper. 
What do YOU think? Was the fan being disrespectful or is it truly no big deal?

I mean, you’re playing the part of a stripper.  Isn’t that what people donto strippers?
She just got free props.
My thing is safety though.  She’s performing and I wouldn’t want her to slip or a dancer to slip.  Don’t throw things on stage.

I voted yes, disrespectful. Anyone with any live stage experience (viewing or performing) should know better than to do anything disruptive of the entertainers on stage. 
Whoever threw the money is lucky they didn’t get tackled by security.

Yes and no? She's not at a strip club which I think is the only acceptable place to throw money, BUT I don't think you can act like one then expect not to get treated like one. I guess next time she'll try to say a little more classy.

She’s giving a lap dance. Strippers get paid for lap dances without being naked. Hell, a stripper has probably worn the same outfit while giving a lap dance. If being a stripper offends you, don’t dance like a stripper. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Of course it's disrespectful. Unless you're at a strip club enjoying a strippers presence, you don't throw money on people. You don't throw anything on people. Doesn't matter what she's wearing or what she's doing, she isn't dancing for your tips and and dollar bills to be thrown at her. She's preforming her music.

I don’t think the person should’ve thrown money, however I don’t understand how she could be THAT upset when she was doing everything a stripper does except have money thrown at her. Whatever 🤷🏼‍♀️

I think the intention behind it is definitely respectful at that kind of venue and performance but let me just tell you all right now, you can throw any money you would like at me (preferably $20 bills or larger) and I will not complain.
