I think it's very true that even if domestic labor is split evenly, which I would say it usually isn't, even today, in most relationships the "emotional labor" (delegating tasks, remembering birthdays, organizing events and maintaining the relationship) fall on women. This causes role strain, especially for working women. Because when women started working, culturally men didn't pick up the slack relationship wise

I think it’s better to be single than to be with the wrong man.
I loved my single life. I vowed to never get married.  I met my husband at 29 and game over.
It’s honestly pretty easy if you’re with the right person

Idk about this one.. 
I don’t like being grouped into things.
For me it’s a different kind of happiness. While it’s emotionally taxing to be in a relationship, being single isn’t all that great either. 
Regardless of how much of an ASSHOLE my bf is, (an I whole heartedly mean he’s a fucking DICK!) I honestly don’t want to remember what it’s like to be single. Sometimes his “tough lovin” is exactly what I need to light the fire under my ass, if I were single it’d take me double that time to actually get on it.

I can relate to the fact that I do ALL of the emotional labor. He doesn’t register or remember major life events in any way. However, I wouldn’t trade him for anything. He’s my partner, my other half, the only one I want to fall asleep next to and wake up with every day. When he’s away for work I miss him all the time.

I feel like there’s merit there, although I don’t personally feel like I do more in my relationship. While I very much love being with him, I was quite happy with a single life before we met as well.

I was a serial dater. I tended to have long relationships with very short periods of being single. Now that I am older I am not sure if that would be the same, but I don't find this hard to believe. Women are becoming more and more independent both physically and emotionally, so I can see why more woman are enjoying being single than before
