My MIL told her family I was pregnant, should I be as mad as I am? Read post.

Question

So, on thanksgiving my MIL did something that has pissed me off and hurt me at the same damn time. I haven't been to the doctors yet and we have no idea what's going on or if the baby is okay or what! I'm between 10-12 weeks. My first pregnancy was high risk and beyond hard. I have a blood type that attacks my baby. I also had preeclampsia and they said over the phone I more than likely will have it again. We didn't want to tell any more than the few people we have until we know everything is OKAY!! Well, my wonderfully inconsiderate MIL had different plans. She asked us if we wanted to tell the family as it was "the perfect time". We told her NO! Minutes later she makes the announcement that I am pregnant! I am still fucking mad! Am I the only one that thinks thats so disrespectful and just wrong! I feel it wasn't her place as does my Fiancé. She however sees nothing wrong with it. She also made me miss thanksgiving lunch with my family and I couldn't be more upset. I don't know what to do. If I say something, she will make it seem like I'm attacking her. She steps over boundaries ALL THE TIME. She tries to step in "Mommy shoes" when it comes to my daughter and she is really pushing me. What do I do?!?! Am I overreacting?

Not only is it NOT her place to make that announcement for you, she specially asked and your specifically told her NO. Ask your fiancé to have a conversation with her, try talking her to afterwards. If she can’t follow your rules now, she’s going to be absolutely miserable to deal with once your baby is here. Imagine all the rules she’s going to break and boundaries she’s going to overstep.

I wouldn’t tell her ANYTHING after that. This is crossing a pretty big line. 
I think you need to talk to her when your husband is around so everyone is on the same page & put her in her place. If you don’t she will more then lily do it again in the future

Don’t give her any more information until it’s general knowledge... no gender reveal until you tell everyone, don’t tell her when you’re in labor until after you’ve had time with baby.She clearly can’t respect your boundaries (which are perfectly reasonable). Don’t let her brush you off. I’d also want to spend a whole lot less time with her.

I'm sorry to hear that. I have already told my husband when we get pregnant we are not telling anyone, parents included, until the first trimester is done and we get the all clear from the doctor. And his Mom is the main reason for that, she would do the same thing and tell everyone and then just claim she was excited and didn't mean to upset us.

Your fiancé needs to sort his mother out. Both of you need to pull back on what she hears, sees and experiences, what she’s included in - show he her actions have consequence.
Also, she made your pregnancy about her.
