Baby Preston has arrived 12/03/2017! 😍

T.

Well, to start off my pregnancy was textbook after 2 losses in 2015. I was so grateful and prayed for a smooth, blessed and successful delivery. My initial due date was 12/06/17 then doctor moved it to 12/02/17 a few weeks ago due to baby measuring ahead. That was my husband's birthday & he was hoping baby would come. Well, I was only 1 cm and 50% effaced so on 12/02/17 we had pedicures, took our dog for a mile and a half walk and had Thai food for lunch. Around 8:30 I took a bath & climbed in bed to watch tv while my husband relaxed downstairs. Cramps started at 10:36pm but no big deal. I timed them and noticed it was every 15 minutes. Advised my husband baby may be coming Sunday. I tried to rest & they became stronger and closer together. He came to bed and started timing them & said let's call the doctor. At about 1:15am we were told to go to hospital since they were 5 minutes apart. Got checked in at 2:23am & was 3 cm. After an hour dialated to 7. By 5am was fully dialated and ready to push. After 5 pushes, baby was born. All natural as I wished and nurses adhered to my birth preference protocol & did not force or offer drugs. Advised me of options if I wanted them and told me to let them know. They were super supportive & impressed with for fortitude to go natural despite the intensity of the pain. I have a second degree tear but it was all worth it for our beautiful baby boy. God was in control. The cord was around his neck 6 times but his heart rate never dropped and he came out crying. All my husband & I could do was thank and praise God. 6 pounds 11 ounces and absolutely perfect, beautiful and the joy of our lives. Good luck mama's who are waiting to give birth. As a FTM, the experience and empowerment from letting my body do what it was made to do has been so enriching and life changing.
