So I went through a chemical pregnancy back in beginning June. My husband and i took a pregnancy test, celebrated, then two days later i got my period with allll of the worst cramps. I ended up calling into work that day and told my manager why so she can understand.

Flash forward to when we found out we were expecting again... such a nervous but joyous feeling! I told my manager (and some close friends i work with) but only because i didn’t want to catch my manager off guard with another miscarriage, and i didn’t want to go through this without any friends by my side.

I did ask my manager to keep it under wraps, seeing as i didn’t want to have a miscarriage and have to share it with the world... however, the day after i told her was the day i was told that i got promoted to a different location with a new manager.

The following day (i was 4 weeks exactly) every manager in my city had a lunch meeting and she announced it to my entire leadership team- including my new manager who just hired me on and i hadn’t told him yet. It wasn’t an accident. Her words were “so i want to be the first to tell everyone...that Zaynah is pregnant.” People i don’t even talk to in my company... know i am pregnant. I have received multiple congratulations texts... and we haven’t even announced it. I honestly don’t know why she did that but I honestly hate the feeling that the biggest surprise in our life after 15 months ttc, has been ruined by “oh i knew a long time ago.”

I’m not sure what to do! Is this an HR topic? Should we just go ahead and announce it on social media? Should we still keep waiting til my first trimester ends? I know it shouldn’t, but it’s getting really depressing for me to NOT know who all knows about this.
