stealing pregnancy thunder..?

my SIL is curently 23 weeks pregnant with baby #1 after 2 MC and I just found out I am 5weeks pregnant with baby #2. I was planning to announce on Christmas morning to my in laws and do a cute thing. get her a onesie that says big cousin on it and have my son wear a shirt that says big brother under a sweater and reveal it after she opens her gift. now I'm a little nervous she will be sad that I'm stealing her "pregnancy thunder" I mean the baby's will be 5 months apart so I didn't purposely try and get pregant RIGHT after her. should I go through with my Christmas announcement or should I tell her first in private so she knows I had her in my mind and didn't want to step on her toes..we are supossed to go shopping tomorrow to look at baby clothes for her daughter so it would be a good time. I'm just unsure of what to do.

I think you'll be fine, this is her first and it's after a miscarriage, nothing can really steal the thunder from her that's big. How exciting to be pregnant together! congrats to y'all both 😊

I mean you shouldn't have to. She's her own person and you are too. But given the circumstances and her past MCs and if you truly care about her and her feelings, id tell her first.

I wouldn't be that worried. It's her first baby, I'm sure she's getting plenty of attention. Maybe tell her first as someone else suggested.

Telling her may be the best way to go just in case, but I don’t think you HAVE to. She’s been pregnant for 23 weeks and it will be nearly an additional month by the time Christmas rolls around. That’s a good amount of time to be in the pregnancy spotlight. The Christmas idea sounds cute so I say do what makes you happy. 
Unpopular opinion? Maybe it’s because I can’t relate, but I feel like the whole getting mad at other people for getting pregnant at the same time as you is just unnecessary drama. Like, get over yourself.

I would tell her first privately but the big cousin onesie is a super cute idea and you should still give it to her.  She'll probably be super thrilled that her baby will have a cousin so close in age.

I told her today! I had my son pass her a napkin saying hi Auntie guess what? I'm going to be a big cousin AND a BIG BROTHER and she was happy and excited and asked when I'm due. she said next Christmas is going to be extra special with both new babies. and she says she really hopes I have a boy lol. because she's having the first girl and wants it to be the only girl..I'm actually hoping for a girl this time but I would be just as happy with another little boy💖
