My birth story ! Semi long with a rare situation

Kristie

So on 12/3 at 530 PM (when the supermoon was closest to the world) my water broke but it wasn’t much and my husband had to convince me to go as I went to the hospital three times the prior week thinking I was having contractions. So I drove us to the hospital (40 mins) and my water did indeed break. I was have contractions every 4 mins and was 4 cm and 90% effaced at 7pm. When I got up to labor and delivery I walked and sat on the birthing ball for about 4 hours as I didn’t want pitocin. By 2 am I was contracting 2-3 mins but still didn’t feel much of anything and I contracted to 6cm. At 330 am I decided to get an epidural since I wasn’t in pain and didn’t want to feel anything anyways. After the epidural which wasn’t bad at all more a weird feeling then anything I slept from 4-730 and then was woken up to be told that my contractions were now 13 mins apart and they were going to start pitocin which they did very slowly I was still 6cm at this point. Started pitocin around 730-8 and took a nap till 11 and told them I feel like I have to poop. They checked me and I was 10 cm and would start pushing within the hour. I started pushing at 1220 and was just very uncomfortable like a really constipated poop and did different pushing positions which really helped. At 115 pm my epidural wore off and that’s when the worst part was. I had relief between contractions but pushing with contractions were awful with minimal relief pushing. After 1 hour and 15 mins of pushing Kiera was born!

AFTERWARDS: as soon as she was out of me I was exhausted. They put her on me and after a few mins I asked her to be moved. Next thing I know I feel the doctors entire arm up to his elbow inside of me and the WORST pain of my life. Worst then any part of labor and delivery. I lost about a liter of blood in 20 mins due to uterine inversion. My BP dropped to 60/38 and was very light headed and dizzy. I was given so much meds to help with the bleeding and the doctor said he has only seen this one other time in his career and it’s very rare.

After my delivery I felt so awful, exhausted and dizzy and I kept bleeding so much that they had to give me more meds which cause a lot of diarrhea which I cried that I didn’t want (glad I did it saved my life). I had a few more episodes of low blood pressure but finally after 7 hours of giving birth I was finally stable enough to go up to The postpartum floor. I was still wide awake and finally

Able to enjoy my
