Mums of girls. Any thoughts on getting your baby’s ears pierced?

Should be their decision imo its not needed to pierce them for them as a baby, also when they are older its an experience for them!

Hensley got hers done right after her 2 month shots. ( all the tattoo parlors around here wouldn't do it until the first round of shots or she would of got them done earlier)

I guess I’m the only one here who doesn’t really see anything wrong with it. If my daughter decides she doesn’t like it, she can take it out and let it heal up. It’s literally no big deal 🤷🏻‍♀️ sorry you had to feel anon to post this, but if you want to do it, do it. You shouldn’t have to justify your parenting decisions to anyone else.

I plan on getting my daughter’s ears pierced (shes 8 weeks old) and here’s why:
I had the mindset with my older daughter that if she decided she wanted her ears pierced, I’d let her when she was ready. That came when she was 8 years old. She cried the entire time, then hated that she had to wait so long for them to heal so she could change her earrings, she hated cleaning them, then she ended up changing them when no one was watching so they ended up getting infected. 
So I’ll get lo’s ears pierced while she’s young so I can take care of her ears and she won’t care about changing them lol.

I don’t feel like there’s anything wrong with it! I got mine pierced around 4 months old. I’ve never had a problem that they were pierced. It’s feminine and pretty :)

We won’t do it until she’s older and can ask herself. I just think it’s unnecessary. From working in urgent care, I’ve seen babies with infected piercings, allergic reaction to the metal earring, and earrings or backs fallen into the ear canal. I didn’t choose to pierce my own ears until I was in high school.

Nope. My daughter will make that decision when she can clean and care for the piercing herself. I don’t need a crying infant in pain that I caused because I want to make her look “pretty.” It will be her choice as it should be.

I left my son natural and I will let my daughter choose when/if she pierces her ears.
It’s their body, their pain, and it’s not necessary. Just my opinion.

I guess I'm the minority. My husband and I decided we're gonna our daughter's ears pierced at the end of this month or next month. Honestly, I do not see a problem with it.
