Will my belly button piercing close up?

I have had my belly button pierced for about 14 years. I’m currently 28 weeks pregnant and it has gotten infected. It is getting better, but my Obgyn said I may have to take it out if it doesn’t clear up. If I take it out will it close up? Any suggestions?

They make belly button piercings for pregnant woman. It’s a much longer flexible plastic insert. It will probably close if you take it out. I’d probably look into the pregnancy retainer.

It’s probably rejecting because of the pressure behind it. I would take it out before it rejects all the way through and just get it redone after you have the baby

Everyone is different so it may not close for other people but it could in just a few hours for others I️ wouldn’t take it out if it hasn’t completely healed from the infection (I’m not a doctor so I️ don’t want to tell you to do something that may not be correct) but I️ know for piercings in general you shouldn’t take it out if it is infected and hasn’t completely healed it can trap the infection but you could go get a pregnancy bellybutton jewelry if you do and it isn’t completely healed I️ would go to a shop to have them put it in for you

I took mine out around 28 weeks because it got irritated but daily I would just insert the piercing in to make sure it stays open. Now I am 6 weeks pp and have it in again.

Nope. It won’t close i’ve had mine for over 10 years and took it out with both of my pregnancies due to irritation issues and I never had any problems putting it back in when I was ready.

They are all so long and I feel like that would get caught on everything. For now I think I’m going to take it out for a couple days and see how it does. It’s already getting way better so I’m hopeful I will be able to keep it in.

It might close up but i also know many people who took their belly piercings out for them to close and they never do so it may not 😅. Any chance you can get one of the pregnancy rings?
