Decorating for my own baby shower

I decorate for tons of events showers, dinners events at my church. I absolutely love to do it! It's a big adventure for me and I seriously enjoy it. I like to do newer more modern styles. I love playing newer games instead of all the old ones.

But the one thing I hate is being the center of attention. So a shower is absolutely torture for me! I found a way to please my mother-in-law by having a shower if I plan it! That way it a social event and I can flutter around and chat with everyone. Plus I discovered the "unwrap shower" idea and I'm over the moon about. Plus everyone that wants to come are from different social group and I want everyone to feel apart and not left out.

My MIL's sister and others are flipping their lids about me "semi hosting" my own shower. I should sit back and enjoy it! My MIL loves doing food so she doing that and I can give her full credit for the whole thing. Cause to be honest I could careless. But I hate the old style showers are being held. Opening ackwardly every gift and playing the same old games.

Am I being selfish? My husband and my Mother inlaw are fine with it. Should I worry what others have to say? Am I sounding like a brat? And can I convince my husband to do a co-ed which will be ideal for me? How far along is a good time to do a shower?
