Throw it out or clean it?

So our cat from hell got into the baby storage area of our basement, and decided that the baby bassinet was a great place to poop instead of his box.

I'm not a cat person, so this royally grosses me out. I want to throw it out and buy a new one. My thrifty, cat loving husband wants to clean it and use it for our new baby due in February. I find it disgusting and vile to put anything soiled with cat feces anywhere near my babies, and really really want to re-home disaster cat, as this is not the first time he's destroyed something by pissing/defecating all over it (a love seat, a lazy boy, multiple rugs, apartment carpets before we bought our house that we ended up being charged to replace).
