Kids at a wedding

Kacy

Okay, so this is a topic that is coming up A LOT in my wedding planning! And I’m curious on other people’s thoughts.

Should kids be at weddings? If not, why not. And if yes with exceptions please comment why! I want EVERYONES OPINION!

I don’t want kids at my actual ceremony, besides the ones that are in it. And at the reception I’m asking that kids under the age of 10 leave by 8pm. (With the exception of the kids that are actually in the wedding) Sounds mean but I don’t want a bunch of screaming crying kids annoying me on MY day. Or running around in the way of everyone else.

I feel like it’s unfair to my other guests, people come to weddings to watch two people join lives together, not watch 50 other peoples kids. A lot of parents think “oh there’s plenty of adults I don’t need to watch my kid” and I’m not okay with that. If kids are running around screaming, yelling, and crying i just think it’s uncalled for. Granted I want all my nieces, nephews, and cousins there, as well as my friends kids, and what not, I think 8 pm is long enough to spend time with them. After 8 pm is adult time.
