Only apply and interview for jobs that you are qualified for.

Wear a business suit even if you are interviewing to answer the phones. This is your first impression. No open toe shoes, neutral nail color, hair neat, makeup natural and neutral tones for your wardrobe.

Every single question that starts with “explaina time when” or “give me an example” make sure you have concrete examples. Do not say “well I’m always a team player” fice an example ofnwhen you went above and beyond.

Don’t be afraid to say that you don’t have experience in a certain area. I know when people are bullshitting me and I’ve seen their resike and Work history already. There are questions that they may not have answers for and that’s ok. But tir it back to something relative. For example, you may not have experience in the corporate environment presenting to the c suite audience but during your fradjate program you facilitated workshops with the school provost. You are showing honesty and relevant other examples.

Ask questions about the job which inckudes showing your self worth and your aspirations. For example, for people in this position, do you have alotof turnover? What are those reasons?

What does a typical career path look like?

Do not do not do not ask about money!!!!!! That is handed if you get the job offer. When you get a job offer. If this is for a professional job, know that their first offer is the start of bargaining. Always counter offer higher and settle somewhere in between.. give rationale for the reason you are asking for the money. For example, are you losing scheduled bonuses at your previous employer and therefore need a sizeable sign on bonus to prevent a pay cut? Work that into it. Have them send you their benefits package as you get your offer so you can price out what you need.
