Ovulation kit help

Hi All. I was getting sick of the expensive Clear Blue Digital Tests so I decided to try the Easy@Home OPKs this month but I’m not sure I know what I’m looking for. Here’s a picture of the last few days (CD 11-14). Will you always see a faint second line regardless? Or does it only appear if OV is approaching? And does it look like they are getting a bit darker as they approach?

Also box says to read after 3 mins but they are still wet and processing until at least 5 minutes...
