Smallest infant car seat? (Fiat driver)

So like the title says I drive a fiat and am expecting our first in January. As soon as we found out(a surprise baby) I became worried about the car seat situation. My car is tiny and has 2 doors, with very minimum clearance between the door frame and the front seat. I'm paranoid I won't be able to find a SAFE but still SMALL enough infant car seat. We are also limited to a a pretty small budget, ideally less than $250. Does anyone know of any really really compact car seat? I'm going to include a pic of the back seat to show how small it is.
