Prefolds too big?

Question

I bought infant/smallest sized prefolds and tried one recently with my 6lb 9oz daughter. Did a couple folds but they were huge on her! Using a very small all in one now and continuing to mix with disposables but they are also a bit big. Is this common with prefolds and do I just have to wait until she's bigger to use them, or are there any tricks to getting a good fit on a small newborn? They swallow her right now...

6lbs is still pretty small, she might do better in premie size. Greenmoutaindiapers.com has them for really cheap.

I am 3 for 3 for not liking prefolds on my newborns. I liked Lil Joey AIO's on my girls best for the first couple of months. My son was best in those for a week or 2, but then newborn fitteds and prefolds were fine. On tiny babies prefolds are just super bulky.

i folded mine down in the back or front and then did the newspaper fold as long as your cover fits on really good it doesn't really matter what the diaper looks like underneath. my baby's butt was huge
