Baby shower dilemma

I'm still ttc but (like many) I've put some thought into the baby shower. the trouble is I have no family within 300 miles. no siblings or parents. which tells me I'll have to either host my own shower or have/ask a friend to help me. I have one particular friend in mind but what would be the best way to ask her for help? I would never even consider asking her to do anything out of pocket but i still feel like i may be over stepping bounds.
