Thoughts on sugar?

With my first pregnancy I had no candy nothing because I wad worried it would hurt the baby. This time around I can't get enough sugar I have been eating a lot of sour candy and some chocolate. so my question is, is it safe? I'm 10 weeks.

Too much of anything isn’t good. I’m sure baby will be fine though. I went to do my glucose test 2 weeks ago and there was a woman in there who was probably 500 pounds and 34 weeks pregnant. During the 2 hours I was there she ate an entire full size bag of Doritos and 2 different bags of the gummies with sugar coating on them! Some people just eat whatever they want and how much they want while pregnant and blame it on the baby.

Chocolate has caffeine in it so I wouldn't eat to much of it

My first pregnancy I craved Italian dressing so I ate a lot of salad. My daughter was 6lb7oz. My second pregnancy I craved chocolate ice cream and cake and she was 8lb12oz. Just my experience

I have eaten more sugar than I’d like to admit through this whole pregnancy, I’m 30 weeks. I haven’t seemed to have any issues and she seems to be doing great. I also passed my glucose test the first time around without any trouble. I think it varies person to person and how your body handles the sugar intake. Not really sure though. I just wanted you to know you’re not alone 😅
