Hernia surgery...

My husband had hernia surgery before he met me and we have been together 6 years ttc for 4 of those with no luck.. I overheard a conversation at work tonight about hernia surgery making men sterile.. does anyone know anything about this? I googled it and read thousands of stories but I wanted to ask here.
