Birth control for 9 years!!

So when I was 12 I was put on birth control for bad periods, ever since then I’ve been on it until I got off of it about 2 and a half months ago. I’m now 21. My husband and I have been trying to conceive ever since I got off, nothing as of yet. In yalls experience, the longer you’re on the pill does it mean the longer it will take you to conceive?? I’ve had people say yes but then I’ve read that it doesn’t matter and that being on the pill that long can actually help you conceive due to the fact that it can prevent things like endometriosis from making you infertile and other things. But I don’t know! Does anyone here have any expertise in the area??
