I know it is super early to tell anyone but we miscarried last month and got a bfp yesterday. We want to tell his mom for xmas. Is it okay or a really bad idea?

After a loss with my first pregnancy, when we found ourselves pregnant 6 months later we told people right away that we would want to support us if it happened again; close friends & immediate family, & we told the rest of the world at 14 weeks. We didn’t want our second pregnancy to be negative or anxious, so sharing with some people early helped us focus on the good & get excited.

We had what we thought was a healthy pregnancy our first time...at 18 weeks at my first ultrasound, they discovered our daughter had a very rare condition—Bladder Outlet Obstruction. After three medical procedures and having her bladder drained once a week, we lost her at 28 weeks and she was a stillborn. It was heartbreaking, but I was grateful for everyone’s support. 
Currently 4w5 day with baby number 2. We are telling only immediate family Dec 24/25, when I’ll be about 6 weeks. First OB appt is dec 29. I’m not mentioning anything on Facebook until the end of our first trimester. We decided if anything DOES happen, we’d want our family’s support. It’s up to you...most people don’t tell anyone other than immediate family until the end of the first trimester.

I told everyone when I got pregnant 2 yrs ago, I was 6 weeks but then had a miscarriage. 2 yrs later I waited until I was 10 weeks after my first ultrasound . I was scared to tell anyone.

I would tell my immediate family if we were very close, but no one else. I've been thinking a lot about this myself lately. I got my BFP last month. I told my husband and sisters right away, and told my mom the day before Thanksgiving. Well, I ended up miscarrying on Thanksgiving. It was really heartbreaking, and I was so glad I hadn't told anyone else. AF is due 2 or 3 days before Christmas, and I've been debating what I should do if I get a BFP again. I am scared to tell anyone again, and I think I'm going to wait a little longer to tell my husband, sisters, and mom this time.
