Lo Lestrin Fe BC as effective?

So I just started 1 mg Lo Lestrin Fe and this is my third day on it. This is the third BC pill I've tried because the others have really adverse effects on me hormonally. This is the lowest dose of any BC I've ever been on. Will it be just as effective at preventing pregnancy as something of a higher dose? Also, how long does it take to become effective? I read somewhere that after I've been taking it for 7 days it will start preventing pregnancy. Thanks all.

I dont know a lot of bc, but today is my second day of taking lo loestrin fe! I just wanted to let you know, my gyno told me to wait until my period starts then it will prevent any chance of pregnancy right away.
