Why does my body hate me

This is my 3rd period in a month. I’m on birth control and the only time I missed a day was the ninth and the new pack started the next day. I’ve called my gynecologist and I guess my only bc option now is an iud. Still WHY?!?! It’s really bad I’m so miserable!

The other thing is I’ve semi-regularly been my period on my second week of pills. So I don’t trust that it’s working.

Oh and for some background, I say it’s my only option because I have a history of blood clots so I can only take this one kind of pill with no estrogen or do the nexplanon(which I similar issues of multiple periods in a month and they were BAD) or the depo shot which I REFUSE to do.
