I’m buying a house and I need an accent wall for my main floor. Which would you choose?

My house is 3 stories and the main floor is a powder room, kitchen with deck, and great room (living/dining). When you walk up the stairs you are essentially facing the powder room and kitchen. But as you turn there is a large wall that is around 30-40 ft. I want that to be accented but my husband is concerned and wants to break it up. I think it will make our home look choppy. I want a simple accent wall like white wood planking. The rest will be painted a silvery grey and the opposite wall inset for the tv will be darker grey.
