Divorce and religion

Interestingly this has come off the back of something someone said to me in a post in another room about me having gotten a divorce from a very toxic marriage and remarried. But for those religions who are not allowed to divorce. How much do people stick to this? Would you stay if your religion said you had to no matter what? Or are there alternatives?

I’d love to hear your points of view and how this rule has been or has not been adapted to this day and age.
