Paranoid or not? Ultrasound confusion!

Hello, ladies!!
I am 16 weeks pregnant with baby number 2, but I am confused. My doctor said I will only be getting one ultrasound this pregnancy and that's after 20 weeks to determine sex, thats all. 
I see everyone else on here who's on their 2nd of 3rd ultrasound and at the same stage of pregnancy as me when I haven't even had one! They said it's not necessary unless I'm not measuring correctly, which I am, or I'm having medical issues. 
With my first pregnancy I went into preterm labor every week starting at 24 weeks, so I was seen bi weekly and then weekly in my 3rd trimester, this pregnancy I'm seen every 6 weeks and then in my third trimester I'll be seen every 2 weeks. Does this sound right? I go to the best maternity hospital in my state. But compared to last pregnancy, am I just paranoid? 
Since my last one was so awful and dangerous, shouldn't I have had an ultrasound by now just to be sure everything is okay? Please help.

I feel like you should. I go for prenatal visits every 4 weeks  and had my first ultrasound at 10 weeks, 2nd will be at 12, and third at 20 weeks.  This is my first pregnancy.

Wow that doesn’t even sound normal! It’s 
all about your doc. If you’re not happy with how they operate find a new OB. There is no way you should be told no if you are requesting one, especially if you have insurance that covers it. I had my first ultra sound at 10w and I go back Jan 16th for my second. I will be a little over 14w by then! I would be terrified to go my whole pregnancy and only seeing my child once.

I had one at 8 weeks, another at 12 and one at 20 for the anatomy and gender . I won’t be having another one till 3rd trimester to follow up on my slightly low placenta . I know some girls who didn’t go a lot and some who went .

I only had 1 with my first (12 years ago) and 2 with my last. One at my first appt to determine date and the anatomy scan. This current pregnancy I get them monthly only because I'm high risk. I think 2 is pretty standard these days.

I only had two ultrasounds: a dating scan at 11 weeks and an anatomy scan at 20 weeks. I was seen every 4-5 weeks during the first and second trimesters and then every 2 weeks until 36 weeks and then weekly after that.

I thought the standard was every four weeks, then every 2, then weekly in the last month of pregnancy.  They would usually do a dating ultrasound at 7 to 11-ish weeks, or whenever your first prenatal is. Then the is the optional nuchal translucency screening which includes an ultrasound between 11 and 13 weeks. They all offer it, and you can decline. Anatomy scan at 20 weeks is standard. After that it depends on situation. Maybe none, unless there are issues, or just to check the baby's position.

Here they do an ultrasound around 12-16 weeks to confirm due date and then an anatomy scan around 24-28 weeks to see if there ate any anatomical issues with the baby (also gender).  That is all. 
I am 31 weeks and have had 4 ultrasounds so far because 1) baby was utterly uncooperative so they couldn’t hardly check any of him 2) age and weight make me high risk
