Bright Red Spotting??

I’m 5 weeks and 2 days and have been having bright red spotting today when I wipe after using the restroom. I know spotting is normal in early pregnancy but I always heard bright red is a cause for concern. I’ve been having light cramps off and on for about a week (which I know is normal also). Called my OB since I don’t have an appointment for a while and she’s on holiday. This is my first pregnancy so I guess I’m just wondering if I should still be alarmed or if this is normal??
