pelvic rest?

just recently been told no intercourse due to placenta previa. they didn't make it clear whether it was complete pelvic rest or just no sex. any insight into this? thanks in advance.

Pelvic test when it comes to pregnancy means no sex of any kind; masturbation, oral, or penetration. The risk of hitting her cervix and causing bleeding would not be good for you or your baby. There is a chance that the placenta could move away from your cervix and they monitor that via ultrasound, but until then I’m afraid it’s in your best interest to not have sex of any kind if and until the placenta moves. 
Did they tell you if you have complete preview or partial? Also, did they happen to mention the chance of having to have a cesarean because of this?

Same happened to me last pregnancy. No sex, no orgasms, etc from 12 weeks until my c section at 37 weeks. Then the standard 6 week post partum waiting period ;) 
You don’t want to bump the crevix or cause contractions when you have a previa. It’s just a waiting game to see if the placenta grows off your cervix or not.
