A terrible parent?

My poor little one refuses to sleep in his crib and barely ever takes a nap. 
I’ve tried everything. The cry it out method and anything else I was ever told. The second I put him down he’s wide awake. The only way he’ll sleep is in bed next to me. 
He won’t even just sit and play. The second I’m not in his sight he flips. 
At night he won’t sleep in his crib. He will only sleep in the bed with us. Which also means he doesn’t go to sleep till we do since I can’t just leave him in the bed alone. 
I really feel like I’m doing a terrible job. He’s a good boy and laughs and smiles a lot but I just don’t know what to do anymore. 😔

Whhat???? Your baby is NORMAL and you are doing your best which means you're an AWESOME MOM! I posted something a few days ago "To New Mommies" might help you feel better? Babies are tough, man! You just have to ride it out!

why would  that make you a terrible parent? Dont be so hard on yourself, my son was the  same way and I  couldn't  get him out of my bed and into his own until he was about a year and then after that it still took months before he  slept good alone. He's  now 2 and still occasionally wakes up at night teething ..peed through or ect. it takes time!!

My daughter is the same. I got her a snagapuppy for Christmas and it's allowed me to miraclously sneak away.

Oh no you’re not a terrible parent! This is normal baby stuff that many parents deal with. Don’t worry at all, it’s not you. Have you tried the Ferber method with progressive times checks? That one worked like a charm for my daughter. Anyway… Your Baby might be going through some sort of developmental phase where he just needs to be close to you, or he could be experiencing some separation anxiety. I like the idea of putting a cloth near him that smells like you. You can also try giving him a stuffed animal or a lovey of some sort, if he’s old enough. That might give him some sense of comfort or security. If you don’t have a bedtime routine, I highly suggest that you start one. I do bath, book or song, PJs, and then make sure you kiss your baby good night and have a phrase such as, “night night” That signifies it’s time to go to bed. If you stay consistent with that, your child will recognize these things as signals for bedtime and that in itself will make him tired. When all is said and done, the phase may last a while, but it is only temporary. So do your best and I know you hate to hear it, but hang in there mama!

Take some piece of fabric or cloth and put bit of your milk on it. Then when you put him sleep, put the cloth near his nose. 
Best is medical cheesecloth, because baby can still breath if it accidentally falls on his face

My son is the exact same way now but for the first 3 months of his life he slept in his crib at night and took naps in my bed during the day. Now he sleeps in bed with my bf and I and we've gotten used to it. My son is 5 months and doesn't put himself to sleep so at his bedtime I lay down with him and nurse him to sleep then about 2 hours later my bf and I go to sleep. I also leave my son in our bed for naps, I just put pillows on either side of him since he can't crawl yet and doesn't even try to get out of bed. Just do what feels right to you and what will make your lives easier
