Do you think its Gods /Allahs plan?

OK, looking for advice... Not a telling off....

My OH is Muslim and I'm Christian. No, we are not married yet, a Nikah is on the cards eventually but a church wedding is way too far off into the distance due to costs etc.

Due to our age (very late 30's and early 40's) we have broken the rules and been TTC as time is running out as we've only been together 2 years, so we are late starters at having a family. However, nothing has happened for us over the last 7 months and we are beginning to wonder if its gods / Allahs plan as we aren't married. My OH is very strict with his religion, except over this issue and does his daily prayers.

What do you ladies think? Are we being silly? I'd like to have a Nikah asap but the OH is dragging his feet over a proposal.... (I think its due to wanting to buy a nice ring but I've told him I'd be happy with just the question and nothing). Thanks x

I would seek God through prayer and ask him to lead you in His word to the answer, whether it's in your will or not. My husband is Muslim and I am Christian, too. Read Jeremiah 29:11. It says to seek God with all your heart and he will have plans for you to prosper. you will feel peace when you feel the right path. also this is hard but you must trust in God with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding and in all ways acknowledge him, then he will make your paths clear. Proverbs 3:5. I have learned to not rely on human understanding and surrender the issue completely to god no matter what is the issue on my heart.

As a Muslim, I believe that we can only conceive at exactly the time Allah has written it to happen. Whether that is because of your situation or another reason, only He knows. Obviously it would be ideal after you’re married but I appreciate things are not always that simple and God does know what’s in your hearts, your intentions. Have you spoken to your OH properly about the delay? There’s really no requirement for a ring in Islam and the nikah could be done very easily with little money. A big wedding could always come later? It sounds like you need a good talk together to see where you’re at.

seems maybe God is protecting you, as a child born out of marriage in Islam cannot be named for the father or inherent from him and is forever considered a child of Zinna. if he was actually serious in his faith he wouldn't be commitingnone of the gravest sins that exist. May Allah guide you both.

As a fellow Muslim, and I mean this in the kindest way possible, if you know you want to be together, then it is not usually recommended to delay the Nikah.  Premarital sex of any kind is considered wrong, as you obviously know.. I am not judging you, as none of us are blameless.  
Please ask yourself, if he isn’t willing to commit, then what is the real issue?  He is allowed to marry any woman, Muslim or non-Muslim. Is it a religion issue that’s the problem?? Perhaps discuss this with him and how you plan on raising children.  You may even want to get some premarital counseling with a Sheikh or local scholar. Take some of your own courses on Islam for your own benefit.  
Only Allah is the judger, and knows what is our intention.  We all need to work on our good deeds, not ramify our bad ones if we feel or know it is wrong.  Make the intention for Allah, seek guidance and forgiveness and pray.  
My husband always says before a big decision, Pray 2 Rakat and ask Allah for guidance.  If you don’t know how to pray, now, before a child, is the best time to learn!  I say this humbly, because it took me a long time to learn as well.  No need to feel guilty, just make the change and make it happen!  We are all learning!  😊. You’ll be thankful that you did!  Nothing more rewarding than connecting with Allah.
