Home IUI?

Question

I had my infertility meeting yesterday.  & after discussion, she said I am a great candidate for home IUI. She states that the success rates between home and office are almost the same. 
Has anyone done this successfully?

I’ve never heard of home IUI. Usually IUI requires the sperm to be processed to get the best sample and then the doctor to guide a catheter to inject the sperm directly into the uterus. Maybe she just means regular insemination, which is just putting the sperm into the vagina near the cervix.

We are currently doing home IUI. We enlisted the help of a nurse midwife the first two times to teach my husband where to place the speculum and to feel comfortable getting the catheter into my cervix. In my TWW so can’t tell you if it worked yet but I love being in my own home. Not as scary as it sounds.

I know they sell kits,  but your partner is going to have to get VERRRRRRY up close and personal  with your insides. The only difference between a dr doing it and you doing it at home is that a dr will 'wash' the sperm and use only the perfect swimmers.
