Was I right to dump my best friend?

I feel like I made the best decision for me, but some say otherwise. She got into prostitution, and I was trying to support her and help her, but then she tried to convince me to sneak off with her to go meet her pimp when I was visiting her with family. I said no because we all usually know what that means. She got mad and called me out my name and said "for someone with such a high IQ, you act stupid." She has always been verbally abusive to me. I was just fed up this last time.
