Spotting on BC..are they working??

I'm on the pill and have been spotting for the past couple days. I'm mid cycle and this doesn't happen to me.. Does this mean the BC pills aren't working and I shouldn't have sex??

It's not uncommon to have spotting or breakthrough bleeding the first few months on the pill. If you've taken it on time everyday, you should be fine
