Cosmetologist here.... it is COMPLETELY safe to color your hair, or do other chemical processes, while pregnant. Being as most salons are pretty open spaces, ventilation isn't going to be the problem. Something to keep in mind though- pregnant hair is difficult hair. Your body is producing hormones on an astronomical level nd this causes the hair to either resist the chemical process or take it too easily and overprocess. Make sure to inform your stylist of your pregnancy for the simple fact that sometimes we need to make minor adjustments to our formulas so you continue to get the results you love.

I’m currently pregnant with baby number 5 ... and I die my hair a lot and have done so during each trimester... babies have always been healthy babies!! But you could definitely talk to you OB to make the best choice for you and your baby

My OB like...somewhat scolded me, for just talking about coloring my hair...and then gave me a book (got several things at my first visit) that said after first trimester you can go for it and dye your hair. Just make sure it's in a well ventilated area.
It's never been proven that it causes ANY harm to baby. And even if my OB wants to be an old person and scold me again, there's a chance I'm gunna dye mine anyways. I was even in my second trimester at my first visit!

NO... Small amounts get absorbed in the blood stream and are therefore absorbed by baby. I don’t care who all says it’s fine, it’s not.

My OB said to wait until after the first trimester. And I’d suggest informing your hairdresser about your pregnancy, so they can choose safe (or not choose unsafe) dyes for you.

It’s completely fine to continue dying your hair during pregnancy. My OB just recommends that I do it in a well ventilated area and he prefers I use an ammonia-free dye. 😊

It's totally safe! Dyed my hair at 10 weeks, going into 13 weeks now, just make sure you are in a well ventilated area.
