nighttime bottle?

So my son is breastfed for the most part, I work 3 days a week so don't nurse while I'm gone obv.  But I do leave early, 5-530 am. lo is usually still sleeping on me when I get up, so I hand him over to daddy. he usually settles back down but today he woke right up... do you give bottles at night or in the morning? I took away the bottle a few months ago, although he was only drinking water from it at that point anyways. advice will be well received.

My daughter typically sleeps through the night, but if she wakes and won’t go back then I give her a small bottle, and she puts herself back down. A typical day has a 4-6 ounce bottle sometime during the day, and an 8 ounce one before bed. We adjust as necessary (when she’s teething she won’t eat real food, and drinks way more formula)...

We give a sippy cup of milk in the morning when she wakes up and drinks while we prepare breakfast. And another one at night which she drinks while i read her bedtime stories and then we brush her teeth. She doesn't wake up during the night but if she did, I'd give her water because I wouldn't want it to become a habit. She has 3 large meals and about 3 snacks throughout the day (plus eats some of my food when she's done). The only time I offer more milk is if she didn't eat  much but that's rare.

I don’t give bottles, except last night, he’s been really sick, he has pneumonia and roseola and some other virus, and he was just screaming non stop. Like not crying, screaming so I figured why not and it calmed him. I’m hoping it doesn’t become a habit now I think they’re getting quickly to where it might get very difficult to stop it and I’ve already decided my battle is for his pacifier lol.
