Modesty
I recently saw a page about a mother getting mad at her 6th grade daughter's school because it required her to wear a T-shirt for a pool party the school was having. The mother said the school was "being sexist" and "body shaming" her daughter. I'm honestly really confused about the whole thing. I don't want my daughter (when and if I have one) flaunting her stuff in front of young boys who are figuring out exactly what girls are. I think the boys should wear a shirt too, that I agree on, but still. What's next though? Sending our young daughters to the mall with no shirt on? I mean, the school has rules... Why can't people simply follow them. Plus, you know some mother who just doesn't care (they are out there you know) who would send their daughter in a skimpy showing their vajay-jay and barely covering nipples two piece. The school wasn't "body shaming" just asking for modesty. I don't know. Maybe I think this way because I was raised in the South. Traditional values I guess.
