34w5d is pain under the belly normal?

hi ladies! all started yesterday, I've getting massive pain below my belly. the pain goes from side to side. i struggle walking, getting up because it hurts. i called the advise nurse line and was told thats normal at this stage because the baby is getting big. when it comes to contractions i have had 3 contractions in the last 30 mins but they only last 5-10sec which makes me think its BH. ftm here i dont want to go to the hospital on 12/31 if is not necessary lol. is this normal? the body is just getting ready for delivery?
