Pre-term labor mean earlier delivery?

Question

I had a pre-term labor scare at 33 weeks.  I was very ill, vomiting, and had to be admitted and given a shot to stop contractions.  I was wondering if a pre-term labor scare means I'm more likely to give birth earlier than 40 weeks, or if baby should likely stay put as she should?  Any personal experiences welcome!

Had two kids with preterm labor both stayed until almost 37 weeks and both are healthy children.

It probably depends on the individual. My sister in law went into preterm labour with three of her kids. She lost one unfortunately. The other two had to be induced to get them out. Same happened to a friend of mine. She went into labour at 33 weeks, they stopped it and then had to induce her because baby didn't want to come out.

I started having pre term labor contractions multiple times, starting around 23 weeks. Had to be hospitalized a few times and given meds and shots to stop contractions and strengthen baby’s lungs...... I still made it to my scheduled Csection date at 39 weeks. Long story short, not related. Lol. Good luck!!

I had a similar scenario but from what i understand it’s not related! My water ended up breaking but not until 38w5d! With me it was the dehydration that brought on contractions.
