My fiancé and I dated for 2 years before he popped the question on my 21st birthday. We've now been engaged for 2 years and won't get married until I finish my degree (another 3-4 years or so). 
I used to think we got engaged too early, but because we're waiting so long to get married, I've now "gotten used to" the idea of getting married and I now can't wait!
So to (finally) answer your question, no I don't think 6 months is too soon to get engaged, because jus because he proposed, it doesn't mean you have to get married right away!

7 months. I'm 29 and have plenty of life experiences and I knew 3 months into my relationship with my now fiance that he was the one. 💕
I would've waited 7 years if I had to. Just make sure you've had the chance to travel together, meet eachothers families and have your families interact, and of course introducing the friends groups. We did all that within 6 months and are working professionals. 😊

I think it really depends on your relationship! I knew I wanted to marry him within the first 3 months. But my motto was “ if he’s the one, he’ll still be the one a year from now.” I wanted to make sure we knew what we were getting into and not rushing. You have the rest of your lives together! So the proposal & all that hasn't happened quite yet, but it will around the time that my ring comes in(hopefully very soon!!) but me and my soon to be fiancé have been discussing marriage for awhile now & he knows how important it is to me, so on my birthday (ahhh!)  he brought me into Kay's Jewelers & we looked around at rings. 
We also plan on getting married on our 3 year anniversary (8.3.18)
