Should I lose weight before getting pregnant?
I currently weigh 280lbs, 5ft 8in, moderately active. I’ve had an open and frank convo with my old school ob/gyn, who said since I’m otherwise healthy, it would be fine to go ahead and try to become pregnant. We’ve been “kind of” trying for two months, but not pregnant. I’ve been really excited about the possibility of becoming pregnant and becoming a Mom.
I turn 30 in June. Part of me thinks “go hard on health and fitness til then, lose weight, feel really good, then try for baby”. The other part just really wants things to happen now, but if something happened to the baby or pregnancy, I’m sure i would blame it on myself, even if it was just something random.
What are your thoughts? Has anyone had a pregnancy at my weight with any input?
Thanks, y’all!!
