I don't want any fights or bashing. What was your experience like having an abortion after 16 weeks? Please no bashing. I am not asking for myself, and I am NOT pregnant. (I'm asking for a close friend who doesn't know what to do)

It wasn't awful. mine took a total of 3 days. The first day was counseling, the second was where they start to dialate you and the 3rd was the actual surgery to remove. I didn't want an abortion, I had to get one because I was going to die if I carried to full term. I was 20 weeks when I had mine in the state of wisconsin. It all depends on what state you are in and what the rules are for the individual state. Please have your friend email me at savboerst1994@gmail.com if she has any more questions.

I had two (11 weeks -rape/ 20 weeks- birth control failure). The last one was a two day procedure and it went off without a hitch! Afterwards it felt like a bad menstral cycle for over a week & I felt sore for a day or two. You do feel like something is missing which is normal because there is no more kicking or movement in the abdomen and I recommend counseling after at least for a month or three just in case.
