I’ve worked for Walmart, June 2018 will be 5 years. I was given 6 weeks maternity leave back in March 2017 after the loss of our son at 22w6d, and received short term disability and some pay. My husband used his PTO to cover the 3 weeks he took off to care for me in the hospital and also heal from our loss. I am now 22weeks pregnant with twins due in May and I come into work to see that starting March 8, 2018 we’ll have 10 weeks PAID maternity leave and 6 weeks PAID parental leave. This is one of the many opportunities that Walmart is offering now for their associates. Also listed is financial assistance for associates adopting a child. This is absolutely amazing!!! Just when I thought I was only going to have 6 weeks off and my husband 2 (his fully paid being a manager higher up, and mine being short term disability and getting part of my pay) and not enough bonding time with our twins, it all changes. I can proudly say I’m blessed to be a Walmart associate.
