So my son had his first ear infection on December 29th. We went in to get checked for possible pink eye and left the office with double pink eye AND double ear infection!! Needless to say I️ was in for a long week. But my son is definitely a champ, didn’t cry didn’t complain or anything the whole time fighting pink eye and the ear infection. Did the drops for 4 days (4x a day) pink eye cleared up within a day or 2. Did the antibiotics (amoxicillin) 2x a day for 10 days for the ear infections. I️ finished the antibiotics this passed Sunday. My question is, can he catch another ear infection so soon after this one or could I️t be the antibiotics weren’t strong enough? Dr said his left ear was really bad and his right ear so on the same path. I️ checked his ears today since his great grandma told me he was pulling on both his ears a lot today, and bam he has more gunk coming out of the left one again after I️t was nice and clear a few days ago. Does he need stronger meds or it’s another ear infection so soon? This is the first time he’s had an ear infection or pink eye.
