Spotting is not normal??

I just went for a blood test to check if I am pregnant because i got a BFP yesterday on a hpt. The nurse told me afterwards to let them know immediately if I experience any spotting or pink or brown discharge as it is not normal. But everything I have researched about implantation bleeding says it is normal. I am really confused. She also told me to make my husband wear a condom if we have sex because a chemical in sperm causes the uterus to contract and can cause miscarriage. anyone else heard of this??
