Tuesday, we found we lost our baby at 6 weeks 3 days when I should have been nearing 9 weeks. yesterday, my husband and I bought a beautiful box and pulled out some of baby's things we had already purchased and been given.

my vvfl test is in there, my bloodwork confirming my pregnancy, my first OB appointment card, a Christmas tag that says "to daddy, love baby brewer," and the ultrasound pictures where we first learned something just wasn't right but held fast to hope and faith. We closed the lid and held our hands on top, telling our baby how much we loved them and that we will see them again one day. I'm not sure if we said the word "goodbye," but we said "until next time." We thanked them for all the joy and happiness they had brought into our lives, even for such a short time. We cried and held each other. We will always think of our baby, who should have been our first, but each day is getting a little easier.
