How do I tell my son?

I have 4 year old and I am 27 weeks pregnant. He knows all about his brother in my belly. Last night I was doagnosed preeclamptic and I have to stay in the hospital for a few days/weeks/month. How do I break the news to my son? What can I tell him that won't scare him, I also do want him to resent his brother for making mommy sick.

I was in the hospital (just home a day or so a week) the first 20 weeks with hyperemesis.

We told him that being pregnant made me sick, and that it would all go away when the twins are born. We didn't tell it like it was the babies fault, just that pregnancy was hard on mom. He got friendly with the nurses, learned about IVs, and got really comfortable on the unit where I was.

My advise is probably to tell it like it is, not in detail, but that the nurses and doctors are taking care of mommy and baby. And that it will be over after the baby has arrived.

Can you draw? Pictures help. 
Make sure he knows who will take care of him (feed him, put to bed, spend time with him), how often he will see you and what other major habits or rituals of his day will change. Those are some of little kid's main worries and the most important things to them.

I have a four year old too, I guess she lives though me! If you try to show cool about it as honest as possible but calmed about it, I'm pretty sure he will be fine! Children are amazing and they teach us things every day! All the best with your two bundles of joy ❤️❤️❤️
